On March 28, mailboxes resembling R2-D2 will be installed in 200 U.S. cities. You will literally be able to feed your bills into a cute, rounded droid. Needless to say, I'm delighted.

I'm not willing to sign up for the email so that I can be one of the first people on earth to find out why, so I'm asking here. Do you have any idea why the alliance?

None whatsoever. Maybe to mitigate the May rise in postal rates? "Look - we have to pay for all these droids!"

Ugh, I had no idea that postal rates were going up again! It seems so recent that they increased -- in fact, I still have two cent stamps from last time, which is fortunate, I suppose, given that the first class rate is increasing by two cents. I guess I'll have to relearn my Canadian and other foreign shipping rates again. Life is so hard.
