Well, maybe it would have been better, and maybe not, but I think it still sounds like a very clean break. Friendships end, because people change, and sometimes your friends become people like that, people who lose interest except when they need help, and you have to leave them behind. It's life. And it could have gone worse. :)

*hugs* I know how you feel, though. Missing the people that your friends were is awkward; there's always that desire to meet up with them again and try and rediscover that place you were both in, and inevitably you're disappointed.

None of this has made much sense. Apologies. I just wanted to say something. :)

All of that made sense actually *hugs* thanks for posting it :)

I agree that it went much better than it could have, though I think my probable last words to someone being "oh god, not a chain-mail SMS", while thoroughly deserved, is kinda regrettable.

If you had told her that you didn't want to be friends any more, it would have caused drama. And drama only ends one way: you feel worse. There would have been a drawn out fight (probably through the security blanket of smses, or e-mails, or - worse yet - messages left on your voice mail. And you still wouldn't be friends now ( ... )

I am certainly different to who I was when I was 16, thank fuck :)

I'm not bitter (OK that's a lie, but I'm not REALLY bitter, more a bitter aftertaste, and that's not the point of my post), just sad, and musing over things.
