SO DO I. I want to play so badly! The universe is against me, though. :[[[ I may just have to take the game back and get a new one instead of used, though... Maybe my downfall was being a cheap bastard.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO. At first. But then I blew some air into my PS2 and it started working. It was just dusty I guess. Oh god I had the hardest time getting a copy of Persona 4 though, and then that happened and I was like NOOOOOOOO WHYYYY UNIVERSE WHYYYYYYYYY.

Last night I spent two hours trying to fix the PS2, including following the tutorials on taking it apart and fixing it that that. Nothing. D: So, I caved and just got a new one, since the disc read error was really annoying, and I do have a backlog of games I haven't played. I think something may be wrong with the disc itself, ugh. The soundtrack that came with it works just fine. SOMETHING SO DOESN'T WANT ME TO PLAY. I might just have to buy a whole new copy. Why must games cost so much. :[

Buy it from Amazon, I think it's cheaper than Gamestop.

It may be your copy of Persona 4. I did hear something about an issue with some discs not playing at all. Have you tried taking back to the store and explaining the issue you've had with it? A new PS2 shouldn't be having any issues reading any game discs.

Really? Ugh. I might just have to, tomorrow, as it's still not wanting to work, even after I cleaned it. I seriously unboxed the PS2 right before I put the game in it, so I don't see what's up. It plays Guitar Hero just fine. :[

In that case, it's most likely the game and not the PS2. Hopefully the people at the store will be understanding.

Yeah. I've been reading up on it, and it does seem like a lot of people had a problem with the disc reading at all. I'll probably take the game back, then buy a used copy off eBay that someone has played and I know will work.

I have a friend who also had trouble getting P4 to work, and it was a brand new copy + his PS2 never had problems playing discs before. I best bet is trying to see if a Gamestop will trade the disc for another one, that'll hopefully work. I hope you still have your receipt. :x

Yeah, I'm going to do that... IF MY MOM DIDN'T THROW THE BAG OUT. I left it on the table for this reason, and now it's... Gone... And I'm pretty sure she once again moved something of mine and didn't ask me about it, first. :[
