So, today...

I had a colonoscopy. Now you know what I was freaking out over! If you don't know what that is, um. It basically means a camera going where a camera should never go. The procedure was required if they were going to get a clear diagnosis for what I have. They needed to make sure it wasn't something more serious that would go unnoticed, otherwise.

Yesterday was... Oh God. Horrible. As my last entry said, no food. None at all. I could drink as much clear liquids (juice, soda, tea) and have some broth (my mom bought me some chicken broth to eat). That's about it.

Did I mention this is all on top of what I had to drink to begin the, ahem, cleansing process?

Now, I thought it wouldn't be so bad. These days, various industries have come up with plenty of tasteless medicines you mix up in various drinks and wouldn't know otherwise. Oh, was I wrong. We mixed the stuff up around two. The powder was already in the bottom of the container, all I had to do was add water to the fill line, and as suggested, a few packets of lemonade Crystal Light. I... Almost wish I had opted out of the flavoring.

Let's just put it this way -- it tasted like if you managed to get a mouth full of sea water, lemon flavored sea water, only to be forced to drink it. Cups upon cups of it. And, supposedly? Said drinking had to be every fifteen minutes. Aha... Hah. D: Yeah, it took me seven hours just to get down three cups. After that, I couldn't keep it down, and the headache I had was bad enough that it wasn't making my stomach situation any worse.

I PRESENT, MY ENEMY:

A whole gallon. NEVER AGAIN.

This morning was awful. Still headachey and nauseous, and yet I still had almost an entire Gatorade bottle mixed with stuff to drink. Praise every god there is that this was tasteless. I had some tylenol, eventually, after my mother insisted. Within an hour, I was actually feeling better! Went back to sleep for a bit, even.

Fast forward past a shower, putting on pajamas, and going to the hospital.

Yes, the hospital. I never knew a colonoscopy was so involved. They actually got me in there pretty quickly. My mother couldn't be with me, but no wonder. From checking in, to getting my wrist bands, to finding myself in a hospital gown, on a bed, connected to an IV... It went fast. The time really began to drag by when I was laying in the bed in the procedure room. The nurses helping out got me connected to a machine monitoring my vital signs, a blood pressure arm band, some...thing connected to my finger, and even oxygen on my nose. If zombies suddenly overtook the hospital, I would be screwed, because I was wired up.

I was so relieved when the doctor finally came in. MEDICINE TIME. And this medicine... The nurse wasn't kidding when she said I'd feel it right away. Within minutes, my consciousness was fading, and I had no idea what the hell was going on. I remember some pain and uncomfortableness, but it's... Far away, like it was just a dream. I have memories of looking at the screen for the camera, but I'm not even sure if they're real.

Basically, skip ahead an hour, and I'm somewhere completely different and no longer look like a robot that's charging up. Mind fuuuck. The only pain I felt was from the IV. The procedure might as well have not happened. It began around... 2:10? My mother told me my doctor was talking to her by 2:30. Talk about quick.

Getting up out of bed to get clothes on was hilarious. I nearly fell over, but the nurse helped me stay up. Ahaaa. Good times. And then! I was rolled out in a wheelchair. All the way to the car, even.

This experience? Not as bad as I thought. As everyone ever has said, yesterday was the worst part. Everyone I dealt with today was amazingly nice, especially the nurse who got me into the room and inserted my IV and all. So sympathetic, and she covered me all up in a few layers of blankets. ♥

I'm glad I went through with it. NOW TO FINALLY HAVE FOOD.

Thank you so much, weizhijun, for listening to me complain all night. ♥ ♥ ♥
