I try to stay out of discussions about agricultural policy in this country, because I feel that I have a pretty limited understanding of things (being a lifelong urbanite), but also because it seems to me that this is one of our most corrupt policy areas, over-run by mega-corps. Huh, this means a lot, especially to small organic farmers, if it goes through. I won't be sad to see megorganics like Horizon go down over that first point, though. It will force some of the focus back to the littler, regional guys that they prey upon.

What helps especially is if they can get certification down to a reasonable fee without compromising the standards.

Those big mega agribusiness firms are going to be pissed, but you know what? Fuck 'em. Especially as far as The Meat Act of 1921 goes. Again: fuck 'em.
