It's moments like these from last night that remind me why I watch our national team play even though they always end up disappointing us in the end. We may still not make it to South Africa and the World Cup, and IF we do (and that's a big if) we'll get our arses kicked, but Zlatan fucking Ibrahimovic manages to make it worth it.

Oh, you're so cute when you squee about football. :) I have personally never really understood sports, but hey, if it makes you happy, it has to be a good thing!

Hee, well, I usually don't care much about our national team, but when they pull off stuff like this it's impossible not to.
Now, if Liverpool would just win something again, THEN you'd see squee! :D

I have personally never really understood sports, but hey, if it makes you happy, it has to be a good thing!

The funny thing is, it makes you unhappy more often than happy. (Well, at least that's the position I'm in.) And yet you keep at it, waiting for those rare fantastic moments. It's a very unhealthy relationship, really, when you think about it. :P

Well, if the happiness you feel is extreme enough to make up for the crap moments, I think it's worth it. :D *may be slightly masochistic*

Oh, it is, it totally is. The fact that I watch the Champions League final from 2005 when I need cheering up is testament to that.

Also, the songs you get to sing as a football fan are a plus! :D There are a few real gems out there.

Dude, I speak a little Swedish. And I still have no fucking clue what those guys are saying. I have never heard a Swede so excited. EVER.

You know I empathize with you! I hope the soccer team makes it to South Africa! A name like Zlatan deserves to.

Heh, I know! I didn't actually hear it when we were watching the game because I was busy screaming my own head off, but listening to it now makes me giggle so much. "Måål! Måål! Zlatan gör mååål! Sverige har vunnit!"

Zlatan is a Swedish national treasure. *nods*
