Playa Papagayo (parrot beach) is said to be be nicest beach on Lanzarote. Well, it's overrated if you ask me.
Anyway, it is a nice walk there which took about two hours from our place.
The ocean to the right...
...and the mountains to the left.
One of the landmarks is the Castillo las Coloradas, built in 1742 as a watch tower, and destroyed by pirates a few years later. King Carlos III. had the tower rebuilt in 1749.
There is a fine view from the top of it.
Very few plants are able to live in that desert of rocks and sand.
We wanted to spend some time there and go for a swim. We dropped that plan though because there were lots of yellyfish. Eww!
