So how many of you are aware that the World Science Fiction Convention is going to be in Melbourne next year? Yes, I know Melbourne is in Australia and this is an NZ group, but this is as close as the Worldcon ever gets to us, so we should be considering it a local event. Start planning now.

Thanks for the link. I was really just aiming locally as per the NZ liaison role. However, I will prod the people who post more general publicity stuff on the australia2010 community that it exists and may be useful.

I know several major author types planning on coming.

Speaking of which, I wrote to Conscription yesterday regarding panel availability- are you perchance the person who checks the email?

You are right, Worldcons always have lots of major authors - its a big part of the attraction. Australia also has a big population of aspiring authors who will be there in big numbers too.

I'm not involved in Conscription at all I'm afraid - apart from intending to attend that is. I do know a few people though - if you don't get a response, email me at the address on my info page for alternative contacts.
