I'm very much not a person for famous people worship. I really don't see what makes the majority of "celebrity" persons so special. For the most part they're just regular people, with a shit ton of money and you really can't believe the hype about them, as it's all put out for publicity purposes. That being said though, I was sad when Princess Di died. Though, I mostly felt sorry for her children. I remember catching the news in the middle of the night as the story was breaking. It was not so much that I felt some sort of personal connection with her, but that one of my earliest memories is watching her wedding to Prince Charles on the tv. I had a book of it too, full of beautiful pictures. Every thing right there to fuel a little girls princess dreams.

Most everyone else it's just been, "aah, well, I liked (insert famous for doing this song/movie/book etc). That sucks" And move on.

Exactly - I'm sad that Roald Dahl & JRR Tolkien are no longer with us, their stories rocked, but then they'd have been falling to bits by now.

Mental note: never ask for eternal life - make sure you get eternal good health!
