This was originally for the recent Ouran Contest prompt, but I failed due to graduations...so here it is! No real warnings, just future!fic that is Haruhi-centric.

How lovely! I hadn't ever thought about how Haruhi would go about fitting herself into a Suou mansion, but this paints a beautiful and compelling picture of it. :)

It occurred to me that it is a lot easier to bring Tamaki down than send Haruhi up. She'd go crazy! :D

I loved it. It was very true to Haruhi, and I love the shades of Candide in the image of Haruhi cultivating her own garden (literally & metaphorically). The cool thing about her is that she navigates her new life with Tamaki on her own terms, and is thus somehow able to go beyond being the awkward "tourist in the rich world" she once was. While she'll never be a native, she does quite well as a resident (however unorthodox she may be). The best of all worlds, indeed. <3

Also, I'd totally be down for a rewatch! I love looking at the visual metaphors/allusions in this anime (and Death Note) in addition to my normal fangirling.

I didn't mean for Candide to occur! But Voltaire is kind of awesome and Haruhi is making her own best of all possible worlds. :) This is why I love Ouran so much - it's not about wealth or even beauty, in the end. It's about knowing each other and making your own way through the world.

And, I may just make a community when I get some free time and see who will geek out with me!
