So sparkly I can't even speak coherently. A veritable feat.
SOMEONE PLEASE SQUEE WITH ME. NOW.
And by now I mean when I get back from tutoring and friend's birthday and so on.
ALSO, I LOVE TAMAKI! (Not that this is surprising). And in my last fic I totally overestimated his spaz potential. Awww...spaz.
This is all.

....Ahem.
I do love Tamaki with all my heart and soul. (Why can't he be real? Sobs) But Yuzuru...his awesomeness has definitely risen to maximum heights last chapter. And poor Haruhi...jet engine roars. xo At least Tamaki managed to hear her.
I am now determined to rewatch all of Ouran again. A huge Ouran marathon. The characters are so fantastically well thought out and beautiful. (I wonder if I will be judged when I'm older for deciding to make my future kids read the Ouran manga...hmm...)
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! (I nearly died when Haruhi just stood there and indifferently told him to quit spazzing out. Oh, Haruhi.)

Tamaki is seriously in my top 10 favorite fictional characters list. (If he were real, he'd cause wars! The face that launched a thousand ships and then sunk them under the weight of incredibly superfluous verbosity.../Tamaki) This is quite an achievement, too. I've always had a soft spot for Yuzuru - he's a bit like Machiavelli with sparkles lately. He was unexpectedly badass, too. And that confession scene - priceless! And then "Hikaru~~!" "Don't shout out someone else's name when they are confessing to you!" Awesome. I laughed so hard.
I totally had an Ouran marathon last month. I'm half toying with making an anime rewatch community here on lj. But I'm sort of lazy.
And I loved how rude they were to one another. Tamaki's list left me with this huge stupid grin on my face. :D

I am actually going to right ahead and admit that the twins had a long battle to win me over (they did! But it took a great deal of time). I felt sorry for them and I thought their story arc was awesome, but I didn't love them until a lot later in the manga. Hikaru being one of the (selfless!) keys to the confession is a stroke of pure genius, I think. What awesome character growth! I do, really, have a soft spot for one-sided TamaKyou...Kyouya just strikes me this way. Even with his mistress. I think Tamaki will always be his people litmus test, though - if you see value in this doofus, I can work with you. :)
And I think I may just do that. And Harry Potter, too? Are you me? :D
Tamaki and Haruhi have a lovely dynamic together - it's not the stupid platitudes or flowery language that I normally get in shoujo manga and that makes me laugh in a not so good-natured way. They remind me of people I know who rib each other and point out each ( ... )

I've had more laughs with Ouran than anything else. It's something I'm incredibly fond of.
Kyouya still makes me wonder, when Fuyumi says he must trust Haruhi and Tamaki a lot, and Kyouya says he's fond of Haruhi.

I love Ouran...it can do serious. It can do comedy. It makes me laugh and grin stupidly, eliciting weird comments from my family.
And for all that my shipper heart is glad (TamaHaru is my only OTP ever...), Kyouya was the one who grabbed my attention a lot this chapter. In regards to Haruhi, he's letting a lot more information slip. And that conversation with Fuyumi - he's all like "I'm not letting my best friend go to anyone." He's scary! To me, this is all more indicative of letting Tamaki go, then anything...(I'm not even remotely a slasher...but he is the most protective of Tamaki out of all of them...he finally is allowing someone else to share his role, a bit.).
Also, so much more passion in Kyouya's character these past few chapters! I'm cheering him on!

The focus is definitely more towards Haruhi and Tamaki in later chapters, and I wish the other characters got more attention, but Kyouya continues to be awesome. I relate to Kaoru and Hikaru the most (strangely), but Kyouya is my favorite. And I love how protective he is of Tamaki. His relationship with Haruhi was complicated in the beginning, but I think he accepts her.
I love Fuyumi, and I'm so happy to see the old characters getting their spotlight in the past couple of chapters.

COHERENCY IS OVERRATED WHEN IT COMES TO OURAN.

- The whole thing.
Aside from the obvious adorableness that is TamaHaru, it made me laugh even more than usual. Maybe out of relief - everything's okay! AND FUYUMI. YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. A little piece of my heart is going to hold on to that Kyouya/Haruhi moment forever. Even if it was more friendshippy.
And it came full circle. *sniff*
BUT IT'S NOT OVER.
I don't know how it's going to go now that all the big conflicts of the series are out (Haruhi is outed as a girl, Tamaki and Haruhi seem to be set for smooth sailing) but I expect it will include lulz and heart-warming cuteness involving characters I love, so I can't really object.

OMG!
Words cannot describe--KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~~~~~~!!!
I AM JUST SO SO HAPPY THAT SHE DID NOT DO WHAT MOST MANGA-KA DO AND END WITH THE CONFESSION!
I so wish I could write Tamaki.
