Author’s Choice
These represent my favorite works. Because most people tend to go for what they love and not what I love, the links are also included in their respective sections.
Host Club -
“Opening Doors” -
Part 1 and
Part 2 - I wanted to do an ensemble fic…but I really wanted to get at the heart of the Host Club as well and the multiplicity of relationship dynamics.
“Fragments of Rose Colored Glass” - This is probably the grand empress of all of my fics…just the idea and the tone and the way everything came out (it still shocks me that it all works when I read it)…I never think I will equal this. :o
Harry Potter -
"The Delusionist" - My first real entry into the HP fandom...and its an extended mediatation on wizarding portraits. I honestly am very proud of how it turned out. DH spoilers.
"Death and King's Cross" - [Gen, one-shot] DH spoilers. Who was to know Death had etiquette enough to be personalized? Contains everyone and their cousin (in some cases, quite literally) from Dedalus Diggle to Gideon Prewett...becomes minor characters are love. Major vignettes focus on Remus and Snape, Dobby, Voldemort, Sirius, Fred, Hedwig, Peter Pettigrew, Dumbledore, and Harry Potter.
Doctor Who -
A Room Without Windows - Multi-chaptered. Spoilers up through Series 3. Ongoing. The Doctor and Martha find that something is eating the words from the world's books and, in finding out the reason why, the Doctor must confront elements from his own tale.
Prologue: Ghost Stories,
Chapter 1: Normality and Eccentricity "Crisscross Convergence" - The Doctor was fully aware that Donna Noble wasn't a lost cause - she was only a lost cause with the materials he had at his disposal at that moment. What he needed was to be in other moments. Donna, Wilf, Martha, Romana(II), Two, Four, and Ten. There are Doctors coming out of my ears in this fic - and it was fantastic and fun. Have a jelly baby.
"Brain Child" - Spoilers for Season 4 finale. Someone drops into the Doctor's mind and then into his TARDIS...trailing the past with her. Handy!Ten/Rose, Ten/Rose, OFC. Misuse of Huon Particles for the win! Oh, and depressing.
