So, last Saturday Lana, Mr. Marshall and I spent the day at Universal Studios. Lana and I'd never been there before, and the tourist season is over, so we figured it'd be fun to go. It turned out to be a pretty... interesting and eventful day, actually.
The whole time we were there people kept mistaking Mr. Marshall for being a part of the staff. You know, like one of the greeters who dress up? Well, I guess I can't blame them, since his style of dress is pretty... unique, and to be fair, it did fit in at an amusement park, especially in the Wild West section we walked through. He seemed right at home there~ The really funny thing was that people kept asking to get pictures with him, though most of the time it was women, not little kids. That didn't make Lana too happy...
Anyway, somehow or another, Lana convinced me to go on this ride called "House of Horrors" which was really, really scary. Seriously! I mean, of course I knew that the Frankenstein monster that broke away from the examination table and headed towards our car wasn't actually going to touch me and that it was just a bunch of gears and wires, but still, it was waaay scary. And then there was Dracula and Wolfman and that weird, little doll from all those movies... ugh. I... I don't think I'll go into a haunted house again. Ever.
We went on some other rides too, typical stuff like roller coasters and tilt-a-whirls, those kind of things. Oh, and we went to lunch at this place called Mel's Diner, which had a fifties' theme. The food was pretty good and all the waitresses were in poodle skirts and roller skates. It was pretty cool, but kind of weird. I can't believe they ever did that kind of stuff. I don't think I could ever do it, the rollerskating thing, I mean. I'm clumsy enough as it is, without skates.
The funniest thing, though, was when we bought Lana a hat. It had Shrek ears on it and wow... it was really priceless to see. Mr. Marshall and I managed to convince her to wear it the rest of the time we were there~
It was really fun, maybe we can go again next year... But, uh, no haunted houses next time, okay, Lana?
