An afternoon appointment.

Jan 06, 2010 22:01

Spock regarded the time evenly as she concluded the compilation of her daily notes. Two days prior, she had spoke to Christine Chapel (Non-Native) concerning the baking of snack foods, cookies specifically. The end of Beta shift had occurred precisely two minutes prior, and thus the afternoon had begun. Without pause, Spock pulled up the intraship ( Read more... )

Spock,

Now would be a perfect time. I'll meet you in the galley - the kitchen staff are off this afternoon, so we'll have it all to ourselves.

Christine entered the galley to find Spock already there, standing motionless by the door. How long had the Vulcan been waiting for her?

She smiled in greeting. "Hello, Spock. Any more trouble from that allergy flare-up?"

"None," Spock answered evenly and inclined her head as Christine entered the galley. It had occurred to the Vulcan to, perhaps, lay out the instruments of their activity. It was unfortunate that she did not know, specifically, what they were.

"I was uncertain what would be required," Spock prefaced, "I apologize, I should have researched what, statistically, is most utilized in this activity."

Christine shook her head, dismissing Spock's apology.

"It's no trouble," she assured her. "Figuring out where the spatulas are hiding is half the fun." She smiled at Spock. "Why don't you get out the eggs, milk and butter, for starters, and I'll see if I can find the mixing bowls?"

"Of course," Spock agreed and moved toward the large refrigeration units. The door slid open cleanly and Spock stepped in to retrieve the ingredients. The eggs were kept in large cartons and the milk and butter in a separate section. It didn't take long to locate all three and Spock returned to the main Galley. The door slid shut behind her.

"I hope these quantities will be sufficient," Spock related placidly as she placed them atop the counter nearest to Christine.
