Here are some words you should never say around me:

"Bromance". I get it. A man has a guy friend that he's close to in a completely platonic/heterosexual way. There is already a word for this--"friendship." This word has about another ten seconds before it becomes completely annoying.

"Ginormous". Ok, it's big. It's really big. Why aren't ( Read more... )

Part of me has definitely forgotten that "ginormous" isn't an actual word. It's been that long.

My money's on "bromance" being the only identified typo.

Mine too (bromance). It's kinda dumb. It's all right as a movie genre though.

We actually had a conversation at work today about new words being added to English all the damn time. (It's just how we roll, as a language.)

i'm guessing bromance and ginormous weren't counted as misspelled.

If I were to make a ginormous guesstimate, it wouldn't affect our bromance, would it?

Bromance is funny because it describes a male friendship in which the guys are totally into each other, in a buddy movie way. Not an unannoying word, I agree (because I would never call anyone "bro"), but I think it has a distinct lexical meaning that makes it useful.

I also use ginormous all the time, but I should probably feel ashamed.
