After meeting Sheppard's crazy meditating NSA-employed counterpart, Rodney was...well, he wasn't sure what he was. Confused. Annoyed, probably. And maybe a little upset. After all, having Sheppard - or someone who looked like Sheppard - point a gun at his face was more than a little unsettling. It'd reminded him unpleasantly of the circumstances of ( Read more... )

Lionel doesn't really recognize the man at first, but when he slows to a stop to let the guy catch his breath, he thinks he places him. Sheppard's friend, the one who didn't even bother to try to be particularly nice. He'd thought that guy disappeared, but Lionel supposed he could be wrong.

"Oh, don't play stupid with me," Rodney snapped breathlessly. "I know you're a moron, and morons find incredibly stupid things funny, but this is not funny. I just met a guy who I thought was you and he didn't know who I was either, so either you met him too and you're playing some kind of dumb prank on me or...you're not another one, are you?"

Oh, God. He was getting a headache now. This was ridiculous. Then again...if Sheppard had another doppelganger...Rodney could mock him even more. So maybe this was a good thing. Big maybe.

Lionel's eyebrows just rise the more Rodney talks, and if he's gone and come back again, he really hadn't known about it.

Of course, being mistaken for Sheppard hasn't gotten old, and the familiar irritation (even if it is a bit dulled by now) shows in his face. "No, I'm not John Sheppard," he says tiredly, "my name is Lionel Thayer."

Come to think of it, the guy looked a lot different from Sheppard, or even the other guy. He looked...well...younger, maybe. Rodney couldn't quite pin it down.

"...Huh," he said. "Lionel, huh? Well, I'm - I guess you know me. Knew me. A different me. I'm a different McKay, but - wow. So Sheppard has two clones now." He wasn't sure whether to gloat more or be jealous.
