[Though the older woman may spend quite a bit of time being snippy and generally unpleasant to the teen girl, Naomi's smile and answer are full of sincerity for once. This is something she believes very strongly in, after all. She's had years to dissect and think deeply on her brother's final words for her.]
They say it because they care. If you truly care about someone that much, you want to know their life will continue to go on even after they've gone.
[Otonashi was rather nervous to see the doctor's actual dream for the first time. he feels bad as he felt like he just intruded, but... either way, he should at least let her know that he saw it.]
Ah, I'm sorry... I - [he trails off quietly, wondering how to say this. but he smiled eventually.] Though, it seems like you knew a wonderful person.
... [a relieved expression came to him. Naomi really is a kind person, at least that is his so-far impression. then again, everyone that he has met so far are nice people. he feels kind of lucky that way.]
If he was able to say something like that, it truly shows how much he cares. I'm glad that you had someone that wonderful.
[though, he wondered if he should be saying it in past tense. he's curious to know if Naomi ever met with him again... but he didn't want to pry at all. he decided to stay quiet about it, he didn't want to accidentally pain Naomi in any way.]
[Though the woman can become quite cruel to certain individuals, Naomi is generally very polite and understanding when conversing with the general population.]
[And what reason would Naomi ever have to suspect that her adopted brother's last words to her had been false? Though she has done her very best to continue on living as fully as possible after Frank's sudden death, the woman's warped perceptions of the soldier as her savior have continued on, and likely, would never be corrected. Her own childhood memories have been altered in her mind from the actual events of her past, her brother made to look more and more like a loving hero than the guilt-ridden shadow of a man who had 'raised' her.
Snake's innocent falsehood to Naomi eleven years previous had only added to her little delusion.
Naomi's sweet laugh should convey that there are no suspicions on her end. She sounds much more happier than usual.] Yes, though you both sound too serious for my tastes. You soldiers always like to be extra severe, don't you?

Closure for us more than them, I assume. Either way, it's good advice to take.
