[Hello again, Somarium! Here is the beautiful Doctor Naomi Javert, formerly Hunter, smiling just as sweetly as ever at all of your lovely faces. It has been quite a dreadful last few weeks in the dream city, but things seem to finally be returning to normal as Somni is slowly being rebuilt and updated.]Well, my laboratory is finally up and running ( Read more... )

[Honestly, he was all too happy to avoid annual examinations. Last year he tried to avoid it like the plague, but with his recent injuries, his sister would kill him if she realized he tried to pass on getting treated. Besides, he knew he'd probably get fired from the police force if he dodged it any longer.]

Any time works?

[Ohhh how reluctant he sounds.]

[She smiles at the sight of one of her husband`s many underlings.]

Any decent time works. Between eight and six.

[He just hoped he could get that far from the estate. He'd had a few weeks of recovery behind him, so hopefully he could make the walk now.]

Fine. You didn't have to move, did you?

No, thankfully. I`m still located just a few blocks away from the Courthouse. When should I expect you?

[Suspicious as he is of all Somarium's goings on thus far, suspicion gives way to necessity, and the welfare of a team mate is just that.]

Excuse me. [And, well, being rude just isn't like him.]

A friend of mine is recovering from serious injury. His state seems to be stable, but I'd like to arrange a check up.

[She`s more than a little concerned at `seems stable`, but the woman says nothing of her worry.]

Of course. Is your friend able to move without difficulty or should I come to you?

He had some help when he arrived and he’s walking fine now, so I should be able to bring him to you.

I`m glad to hear it. [If he`s walking then it will make her job just that much easier.] When should I be expecting you both?

Oh, you're open again. Anything outside of the usual tasks I should look forward to at work, boss?

[And thank goodness. Finally a familiar face. Naomi`s plastered on smile fades only slightly, her expression looking much more weary than it had only a moment earlier.]

We`ll be busier than usual, I can tell you that right now. The police force needs their annual checkups completed by the end of the month and there seems to be too many residents still suffering in various ways from the flood. I might need you in earlier for the next few days, if you don`t mind.

My husband has picked a very irritating time to fall into a sleep coma.

Irritating, or convenient. [Frowns at her tired expression. A lovely woman shouldn't--

Gulps, then turns back to the screen looking rather rigid.]

I... I figured it'd be more work. When do you want me in?

[Naomi isn't in a teasing mood so she lets it drop. Besides, she likes her assistant. No reason to get on his bad side when he does his work so well for her.]

Seven, but only for the next few days and then you can return to coming in at ten. I'll just need some help with physicals.

[He doesn't really care about whatever this video is about, his mind is on one thing and one thing only - and that's one of Somarium's newest residents.]

Naomi!!!

[Look at him, he still looks fabulous even with all the stress he's under right now.]

Oh, sweetheart, I need your help!!! It's urgent!!!

[Oh dear, here we go.]

What is it, Grell?

I don't know what to do!!!

[You've probably never seen him legitimately upset like this. This is drama at its finest, Naomi.]

I didn't think she'd be back in Somarium!!!

scientize July 20 2011, 14:03:18 UTC
[Ah, so there we are. Now with the knowledge that Grell`s melodrama has nothing to do with his hair or his makeup or breaking a nail, Naomi can take the Death God just a little more seriously.

That doesn`t mean she`s concerned, obviously, but he`s managed to grab her attention.]

Calm down and explain yourself.

[Agito doesn't know her qualifications, but figures she has experience enough to know the basics of what he needs to know. His voice is rough and feminine, yet deeper and more boyish than his counterpart's; clearly distinguishable as male. Tired.]

Do you know the standard recovery time for multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen? [A beat.] Underhand in-and-out, straight four inch blade used, no organs damaged.

scientize July 20 2011, 15:31:54 UTC
[Both the male voice and displayed name are entirely new to the doctor, so Naomi is just slightly curious about who this person is and why they have such a specific question.]

It would depend entirely on just where in the chest and abdomen the stabbing had occured. Even if no organs were harmed, there are very important muscle groups located in those areas that would need different recovery times if seriously injured. Even if the wound itself was minor in comparison to what could have happened and the victim was released from hospital care within a week, they would likely be advised to refrain from straining themselves for six weeks to two months at least.

[Six weeks to two months... ಠ_ಠ]

What injuries can result from straining themselves before the six weeks?

[He can hazard a guess, but learning through SWAT isn't the same as learning from a doctor.]

scientize July 20 2011, 22:44:39 UTC
Well, besides the very obvious reopening of the initial injuries, you can also cause permanent damage to those specific muscle groups that had been involved in the incident, which is, obviously, the very least beneficial thing to do to your body.
