I know I say this every time, but you should watch Bioman! It's admittedly dated and the plot's slow even by sentai standards, but this is the seasons where the girls are not just as active as the guys, but moreso. =D
(Seriously, the un-henshined fight scenes in the movie is Jun Jun Jun someone else Jun Jun Jun-- one of the things I love about Bioman is that the writers realized that yes, girls can fight and not threaten the oh so sensitive masculinity of their viewers.)
I only got through the first two episodes last time - this is actually true for most of the seasons up there, that I start them and never finish - and I suppose the fact that it's slow moving means I'm concerned I won't finish it. :(
Yeah, if you've got a short tolerance for 'kid with a problem' episodes, this may not be for you, but I really enjoyed the filler eps. Mind you, my tastes are pretty different from fandom in general and I marathon-ed it, so the plot's pacing wasn't an issue for me.
*nods* That was one of my few issues with Kakuranger, actually. A few episodes here and there don't bother me but when it's every other episode it gets wearing for me.
I do tend to marathon series though - so that when we get moments like Gao 30/31 I'm not left hanging and screeching at my screen. :D - so that might help.
I got about halfway through Magi before - this is a recurring theme of most of the shows up there - but I got sidetracked for some reason and ended up not going back to it. :(
But comparing to most of the shows recently (actually, it starts around Boukenger I think) this one and the ones before that were so much better (Gaoranger, for example XD)
I never got into Shinkenger. I've seen a few episodes that sounded fun but I haven't been following it all that closely.
*nods* I enjoyed Geki, Jan's storyline in particular, but overall I would agree with you. There's a reason most of my favourite seasons are in the late '90s-mid '00s. <3
I'm torn on Mega. On the one hand I have all the raws so I can watch those, but on the other I keep thinking more subs should be coming out and if I wait for them I'll have more idea of what's going on/being said. Despite my current issues with TVN. :/
