superslothic who prompted me with SG-13, cotton candy. :)
Not for the first time, Captain Sky Tate wished he could throttle his anthropologist.
"You seriously don't like rollercoasters?" Z laughed. "What kind of pilot are you, Tate?"
Sky set his jaw and counted backwards from ten. "I don't like not being in control," he said stiffly, which only prompted another round of laughter.
"No kidding," Z replied, smirking at him. "Hey, c'mon Bridge," she continued airily, hooking her arm through his, "let's go check out the Haunted House."
"The Haunted House?" Bridge's voice rose slightly. "Z, I don't really..."
"It'll be fun," Z coaxed. "Right, Syd?"
Sydney Drew, the only other military member of Sky's team, looked torn.
"You're not afraid, are you?" Z pounced.
"Of course I'm not afraid!" Syd snapped back. "Come on, Bridge, we'll show her how it's done."
As the three headed off, Bridge securely locked between Z and Syd, thus preventing his escape, Sky rubbed at his temples, trying to stave off his headache. The first opportunity they'd had to get downtime as a team and they'd had to come here? He'd never been fond of fairgrounds even as a kid, but even he couldn't vote down the others when they were united in something, which meant the fairground it was. Unfortunately.
He turned slightly as Jack, silent up until now, tugged on his sleeve and pointed at a target range, empty cotton candy stick in his hand, tiny bit of wisp stuck at the corner of his mouth and making Sky think thoughts he was pretty sure he shouldn't be having while surrounded by other people. "There."
"Really?" Sky asked, then gave Jack a half-smile as Jack's tongue slipped out to take care of the errant wisp of cotton candy. "You just want me to win one of those things for you, don't you?"
Jack gave him a totally fake innocent smile - Sky had learned very rapidly that being a pacifist by nature didn't mean Jack wasn't evil and sneaky - and tugged Sky over to the range, not giving him a chance to say no, even if he'd wanted to.
"Alright, alright," he laughed, shaking out his arms to loosen them up once Jack had let go. "Fine, I'll play." Besides, it was basically just target practice anyway and while he was still a little uneasy with the husband thing, inappropriate thoughts aside, there was no way Sky was going to look bad in front of Jack. He could totally ace this.
He was only slightly disgruntled when Jack hit one more target than he did.
