And came out completely shipping Alice/White Queen by the end. And then sighed over so many familiar names in the voice acting department that I should have recognised and didn't. I mean, I got Alan Rickman right off, but Christopher Lee? How could I not recognise Christopher Lee? D: In a way it's too bad that the friend I went with isn't fannish ( Read more... )

I enjoyed it. :) I was a little wary going in, because a couple of things I'd heard made me wonder if it was going to be any good but I did really enjoy it. Helena Bonham Carter was excellent as the Red Queen and I loved how Johnny Depp could go from one accent/personality type to another without even missing a beat. The fierce little dormouse whose name I have now forgotten was fun as well. <3 Honestly though, I probably would have got more out of it if it hadn't been years since I read the book because a few references went right over my head. ^.^

And no, I don't mind you commenting at all. :) Hi. ^.^

I agree - I probably could have done with reading the book again! Did you see it in 3D? I thought the 3D was brilliant - I wondered how they were going to do it with the real people as opposed to the animated characters... But they seemed to manage it quite well!

Hah, my copy's in a cupboard somewhere, but I should look it out fairly soon while the film's fresh in my mind. :) Yeah, I saw it in 3D (actually remembered the glasses this time \o/) and I was quite surprised by how well they fit together. Although I suppose with 3D becoming so popular now they've had to learn to blend them believably.

You mean unlike some Robin Hoods, he can speak with an English accent? :D

Russell Crowe's Aussie, right?

Haven't seen Alice yet; I'm hearing conflicting things, so I'm not sure about it. You're obviously a vote for 'yes'. :D

Hah, yes. :D

Yeah, he's Australian. Not someone I'd pick for playing Robin Hood, though. o.O

I enjoyed it, fwiw and I'd heard conflicting things about it as well.
