Soutarou shifted slightly in bed, his mouth curving up into a smile as Blue automatically followed. He didn't know what had brought his friend in here tonight but he wasn't about to complain; he always slept better when Blue was curled up next to him, for reasons he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to look at too closely and yet he found Blue's presence comforting in a way he couldn't describe.
Blue wasn't like anyone he'd been in love with before: impatient where they were gentle, sarcastic where they were kind and yet... and yet maybe the brightest golden star had been right there in front of him all along, not shining forever out of his reach like the others. He shook his head fiercely, trying to push the thoughts away, because this was Blue, this was his best friend and even if he did feel... certain things for his best friend, then Blue could easily be just as out of reach as the others and that was a pain Soutarou didn't want to face up to.
He reached out to brush Blue's fringe out of his face, wishing he could let himself pretend, just this once.
