The U.K Ministry of Defence yesterday awarded a £50 million uniform contract to a firm planning to subcontract the work to China. The British Army combat uniforms will be made in China in a new attempt by the Ministry of Defence to cut costs. That children need to work long hours in a country that won't allow unions with little alternative seems to serve some as a prime example of how flawed the "anti-globalization" movement is; I'd argue that it is a clear indictment of globalization - the fact that children need to work in these conditions with little alternative is the clearest example I can think of as to why this situation is untenable.
