So after I left Edinburgh, it was down to Birmingham to see the Stanleys. Michelle used to babysit me when she was back in the states, so they're all family friends, and I figured I'd go see 'em. Was a lot of fun, we actually went and walked around a massively windy ruined castle instead of Birmingham though XD ( Read more... )

I don't think you're crazy... That's near close to how I felt when I first saw it, except without the nerd-core references. How much did you love the Botanical Garden, though? It's absolutely beautiful in the spring. You should see it in the summer, it's even better. You should have tried to visit some of the smaller villages around Ox. It's like stepping back in time. Ought to see the White Horse, or Stonehenge. OH! Bath is beautiful this time of year too. Did you get to see Stratford upon Avon? The Birthplace? It's surreal! Though, if we're talking surreal, Stonehenge is an absolute trip. Can't wait to go back, really. I miss my beloved England terribly.

The Garden was still really nice, despite the fact that only a small fraction of the plants were doing anything at all. Can't imagine what it's like in the spring/summer.

I didn't get to see much aside from Oxford... I got up to Summertown for lunch one day, but that was as far outside the city center as I got, really. I didn't leave myself a ton of time available, even the two days were amazing though! :)
