OH how exciting, New York is totally a different vibe. I think i told kristen too, that when i visted i didnt wanna leave. its good that your not romaniticing about it anymore, but also be excited about it too.

as for your parents, I think that they will always see you as a teenager or as a child, you know. Your their child and you will always be their child, even you are a "man". So try not to have a too high expectation of your views of them.

oh yeah do you have that jeff chang book, "cant stop wont stop" can i barrow? Ill call ya tomarrow, night dude im fuckin tired

Ill be the second one from the phils to say... its glad you're able to share a lot of your feelings and experiences... thanks bro.. your post about your parents put some tears in my eyes... i think i've been very emotional about this trip so far.. in terms of trying to understand what the people go through.. their coping.. and their bravery that comes with their comraderie... i try not to romanticize it as it is dangerous.. but dang dude, you know what i mean.... i see the same thing with the romanticization of NY when you were a youth. I hope things are really going good... again, happy berfday, i wish i was there with you going to NY. I only know about the bay too.. and more specifically west sf.
