Today was pretty cool. I was sorta floating through school because I was tired, but that was okay. After school I went to Bethesda to meet up with Shelley. Also, "The Star Spangled Banner" is USA's and USA's *only*. It should be in english. That's our main language here. I understand if they don't speak it, but if they are a citizen of USA they should make a point to *learn* the language of their country. It's the patriotic thing to do.

And, I do agree with you, they should learn English, but we, as Americans, especailly considering we are one of most powerful countries in the world, have a responsibilty to learn other languages such as French and Spanish. It's just courtesy. Most people in Mexico, even if the haven't immigrated, know at least some basic phrases in English. Most Americans can only muster a simple, "hola".
I do respect your opinion, and I see where you're coming from, but the comment I was making about the webpage was more dirrected at the comments to the post about the Star Spangled Banner. All of the comments on that webpage are directed at Mexicans, and most of the stuff is just blatantly ignorant and MEAN. The people who immigrated illegally to the United States are NOT, by ANY means, all Mexicans. A few of them have nothing to do with politics or economics, a lof it's just pure xenophobia.

I agree, the article mostly pointed the finger at Mexicans, which wasn't nice. And what they were saying was mean, and I know that the people who immigrated illegally are not all Mexicans. But still, "The Star Spangled Banner" is an American thing, and should be kept in english.
