[CHARACTER INFO]
CHARACTER NAME: Lady Sif
FANDOM: Marvel 616 / Thor movie
CHRONOLOGY: End of Thor Movie
CLASS: Hero
SUPERHERO NAME: Sif
ALTER EGO: Sif / none. She’s a warrior on Asgard.

BACKGROUND:
Sif’s friendship with the nobles of Asgard started at a young age when she befriended Thor during her childhood. The two instantly hit it off when Sif showed that she wasn’t one of the women who would be easily told what to do in Asgard. They became close friends and were inseparable all their lives, causing Loki to become jealous of the close relationship that developed between the pair. He stole into Sif’s room in the middle of the night and cut her hair down to the scalp. When she woke she cried over the loss of her hair, and Loki felt guilty over the trick he’d played. He took the remains of her hair to dwarves to have them fix the hair. He returned the golden locks to Sif they turned to black when they made contact with her head. Sif mourned the loss of her golden hair after that, and never quite got over that she wasn’t one of the fair-haired Asgardian girls.

Rather than spend her life in mourning, though, Sif ran with her natural ability to go against the grain and enrolled in training with the boys. Growing up with Thor and seeing him train as a warrior influenced her to show that she was more than just a girl, but a girl destined to join the ranks of the few warrior women in Asgard. At the time, Sif was the only girl in her class in Asgard in warrior training and was often told she could never ascend to warrior. Sif didn’t let the fact that she was the only girl in her class discourage her, though. She trained harder than the boys, and bested all the boys she fought save Thor. Even when they laughed at her she took them down without a second’s hesitation. And one day she proved to all that she was as good as any warrior in Asgard, even better than most of the boys.

For the rest of Sif’s life she remained close to her friends from training, Thor and the Warrior’s Three. The group followed Thor to the ends of the world and back, participating in many different adventures and battles that gave them all glory (and food in Volstagg’s case). Sif never once doubted her loyalty to Thor during this time, and became one of his closest friends.

Years after the groups’ youth, Thor had finally proven himself to be the next King of Asgard and was meant to be crowned before all the people as such. Sif stood at the side of the queen as a fully realized warrior maiden and watched as her old friend approached to accept the crown, laughing at his usual arrogance. The type of behavior she’d come to expect from Thor Odinson. The coronation was interrupted, though, as three Frost Giants snuck into the palace and attempted to steal the Casket back, only to be stopped by the Destroyer.

Thor’s anger and willfulness got the best of him, and at a word from Loki he was convinced that going to Jotunheim to kill the Frost Giants as punishment for what they’d done would solve everything, including the holding off of his coronation now that his father found him unworthy to be king yet. Like she always did in their youth, Sif happily followed Thor into battle. After all, she’d proven herself a great warrior and could be of use to Thor. Sif and the Warriors Three followed Thor into Jotunheim, where they realized they might have been in over their heads with the Frost Giants. As they tried to leave before things got worse, one Giant pushed Thor too far with a comment, and soon Sif was fighting alongside her friends to defeat the Giants.

When it became clear that the small group of five couldn’t win against the Giants, and once Fandral had been severely hurt, Sif, Loki, and the Warriors Three ran for the Bi-Frost, with Thor following shortly after. Thor defeated a beast of the Frost Giants’ with a single shot and then tried to call up the Bi-Frost but got no answer from Heimdall. Instead the warriors prepared for another fight with the Giants as they were surrounded. But Odin appeared to put an end to the fight, but not the war, and for starting the war Thor was banished from Asgard.

Sif and the Warriors Three remained in Asgard, upset over the loss of their friend. They didn’t dare try to appeal to Odin, as his word was final, at least not until they spoke to Loki. Once they heard that he’d warned the guards of where they were going, it wasn’t hard to jump to conclusions. Sif and the others guessed that something was off about Loki and what he was doing, and rather than deal with it themselves they decided to speak to Odin.

Having grown up with Thor, Sif was the first to speak on his behalf and reached the throne room before her friends, calling out for an audience with Odin. Instead of Odin, though, she found Loki on the throne and stopped short. She was now fully convinced that something was amiss and that Loki was at the heart of it, but hearing that the All-Father was sleeping she knew they couldn’t bring their concerns to Loki. She still tried to speak for Thor and ask for his return, though, only to be angered with the Trickster when he used pretty words to say that no, he would not allow Thor back. Sif felt something was wrong with Loki’s reasoning, and she tried to speak out against it, but was stopped by her friends before she crossed a line she could be punished for.

Once alone, the friends became tense and angered by Loki’s decision. Sif stepped between Volstagg and Fandral when their tempers got the best of them to stop them. It was then that she voiced what they all knew they had to do, and Hogun stepped forth to echo it. Despite the friends’ concern for treason, Sif convinced them they had to go. Thor would do the same for them, after all. After proving to Heimdall that they were willing to break their oaths as warriors and commit treason for Thor, the group was allowed to use the Bi-Frost to get to Earth.

On Earth, the group walked to the nearest town and searched out their friend. Finding Thor wasn’t hard in the small town, and once they did they were all overjoyed to see him again. They told Thor of how home needed him, but Thor spoke of his Father’s death which confused them. It was Sif who told him his father still lives and restored hope that they could bring him back. That was when Loki sent the Destroyer, though.

Sif and the Warrior’s Three did their best to fight the Destroyer while Thor helped the others to evacuate the city. At one point Sif thought she’d gotten the best of the Destroyer when she stabbed him through from behind, but he reoriented himself to turn around and attacked her. Sif dodged and tried to run off with the others, having had to leave her weapon buried in the ground, before she was sent flying by another attack. She tried to get back up to fight again, to be the warrior people would sing songs about, but Thor convinced her to live and sing the songs herself. Reluctantly she left and aided her injured friends, while Thor dealt with the Destroyer himself.

Once the Destroyer was defeated Thor and the Warriors Three managed to return to Asgard to deal with Loki. Upon their return Sif and the Warriors found an injured Heimdall, and escorted him to the healing room as Thor dealt with Loki, a fight that destroyed the Rainbow Bridge and cut them off from Earth.

Afterwards Sif ate and drank happily with her friends, but she was still concerned for her closest friend. She watched as he mourned the loss of his brother, and missed the girl that he loved, her own heart going out to her friend who hurt so much.

PERSONALITY:
Being one of the few Warrior Women of Asgard, Sif is very much defined by this in her life. Ever since her hair turned from gold to black, she has stood out among the other Asgardian women. So to take away from the pity of losing her golden hair, Sif became a warrior. Not just any warrior, though, one of the strongest warriors of Asgard. Being the only woman of her class to train as a warrior, Sif worked long and hard to prove herself better than the boys. She bested nearly all of them in her youth, aside from Thor, and even then she didn’t give up on the goal of being stronger than him. Though that was more of a friendly competition.

Thor and Sif were always the best of friends, from the time they were children and onward. She followed him wherever he led her and supported him in all things he did. At one point in time, Sif entertained the idea of falling in love with the Asgardian prince, but later decided against it in favor of becoming a better warrior without distractions. Instead the two developed the closest friendship they could, Sif even being trusted by his parents to know his heart.

Despite being one of the strongest warriors of Asgard, Sif still faced discrimination as a woman. Many of the boys, and the girls, taunted her for being the only girl in warrior training. Because of this, Sif developed a short temper for anyone who doubted her skills as a warrior. She often got angry at the idea of being compared to the boys and coming up short for only being a girl. This pushed her harder to become a stronger warrior, and when she proved herself to be one of the best female warriors of Asgard she never let anyone think she didn’t deserve that title.

Pride has always been a strong character trait of Asgardians, and Sif is no exception to the rule. She takes great pride in her strength as a warrior. This drives her to push herself beyond her limits, or beyond the limits of any normal warrior. She feels like she has to prove herself more and be the best warrior of Asgard. She’s even willing to risk her life for Asgardian pride, to die a warrior’s death so they will sing songs of her talents.

Even though she’s a warrior she’s not without other emotions. While fiercer in her young age, due to trying hard to become a warrior, Sif is more casual and easy-going in her adulthood. She’s already proven herself to be a warrior and has the chance to lighten up and enjoy her title. Because of this she tends to be as light-hearted as her friends. She jokes with Thor, and even finds him amusing at times, and almost always wears a smile. When she’s even more excited she wears a bright, almost overly cheerful smile and lights up. Her friends make her happiest in life, as does her title as warrior.

Sif’s also in touch with her intuitive side. She had an off feeling about Loki from the start, and was only confirmed when she saw him on the throne out of nowhere. She also knows when her friends are down, especially Thor. She’s able to read and understand him and does her best to make him happy, as he’s her closest friend and she wants nothing more than to see him smile. But she also knows when to give people space and when to approach. Though sometimes this can be lost when she’s a little angry or over-reacting, for the most part when she’s natural and calm she can read people well.

Over all sif is a very casual, natural, and easy-going girl. She has her triggers that push her into being fierce and angry, and she’s able to pick up on the moods of people around her. She’s an excellent warrior, and takes pride in her status as a warrior. Like a true Asgardian.

POWER:
ASGARDIAN NATURE ⇢ While Sif has no extra/specific powers, what she does have is the same nature of all Asgardians. This can be broken down into the three main things inhuman strength, durability, and longevity of life. Her strength is more than an average humans’, but it is not the end all of strength. Other supernatural beings are a challenge for her. This is where here learned abilities as a warrior come into play. Asgardians aren’t born warriors, they become one, and Sif trained hard for this. Her durability translates into three aspects- her ability to last long in a battle and her resistance to injury (though not total resistance, she can still be hurt just takes a little bit more to hurt her; bullets and being stabbed still work). Her longevity of life is natural to all Asgardians. They’re not eternal or immortal; they just live longer lives than most.

[CHARACTER SAMPLES]
COMMUNITY POST (FIRST PERSON) SAMPLE:
It takes a great fool to think they can steal an Asgardian in the night and treat them like a dog. I was handed these tags as I was brought here, they called them ‘dog tags’. How dare anyone think to call an Asgardian warrior a dog! I have fought beasts taller than the buildings of this city and come out triumphant and yet now I am to be treated like less an animal?

I demand to speak with whoever is in charge of this city and to be returned to Asgard at once.

As for the rest of you, my name is the Lady Sif. I would appreciate the help of anyone else who has been stranded in this place. I need to know of what to do to live and get by here until this matter is sorted out. I do not trust the people who brought me here, so I shall trust the others who are treated as I was.

I hope that we can all work together to get back our homes safely.

LOGS POST (THIRD PERSON) SAMPLE:
Earth was a realm that seemed to touch any and all who came in contact with it, and it left a lasting effect on them all. Even far from the Earth that she had visited, she still had memories of Earth that she didn’t like to focus on. She had come on a mission to bring her closest friend home, and in the end had been needed to save his life.

Yet Sif hadn’t saved his life. Instead, her friend turned mortal had saved hers. She was an Asgardian, meant to fight as a warrior and die as a warrior, but when faced with the Destroyer her ideals had faltered. Thor was good at talking people down, but Sif should have known better than to let him intercede as a mortal man. She had watched as the Destroyer nearly killed her best friend, and come to the realization that she had failed him.

Now she was trapped in another world, made to be a superhero and support the Earth she found herself on. Sif was unsure how she felt of this plan. She had been unable to help Thor, how could she help Earth?

Sif mentally scolded herself for such weak thoughts. She was a warrior, born and raised. She had conquered what few other women of her world had, and come back from some of the most dangerous missions unscathed. She had failed once, but never again would she fail. She would prove herself a worthy warrior, and do everything in her power to live up to the title of ‘superhero’.

After all, she was the Lady Sif, born a Goddess and forged a warrior.
