If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Interesting fact of the day - 91% of us lie regularly.

I think the most startling part about this is not the fact that 91% of the human population lies or has lied or will lie. I think it’s generally expected for people to lie. But what makes this so startling is the modifier regularly. This means that lying for these people is a habit almost. ( Read more... )

That's why I would lie when I was younger too. To have my dad be disappointed in me was just heartbreaking. That was worse than the punishments.

I've been lie free for two days. Maybe. How long have you been lie free?

I agree. I'd rather mow the lawn than be told I disappointed someone.

I've been lie free for let's see, a week now. Haha. I lied to my brother. lmao. how lame?

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes. Okay, not really, that was a lie. But, yeah, I know what you mean.

Haha! You're not lame, you're just a sibling. That's that wonderful sibling rivalry and trying to get them to do what you want them to do. It's kind of like a contact sport or something.

Honesty and humor are my top two necessities in a relationship. Without honesty you might as well not even be with that person because really, what's the point? If you can't trust the person you love, then you're just wasting your time. And I honestly can't be with someone who doesn't have a sense of humor. There's no growth in the relationship and all the fun is just sucked out dry.

I have to admit that I've lied countless times to my parents, though, growing up. Like Bryce said above, the main reason was that I didn't want them to be disappointed with me whenever I fucked up. To me, disappointment from them is much worse than anger from them, for some reason. I always thought I could get away with all the lies and although I did for a little while, eventually everything caught up with me, so I basically digged myself a bigger hole that wasn't necessary from the beginning.

AMEN. I would pay for you to speak about this topic Kiefer. I seriously would. And yes, humor is of the utmost importance. You wouldn't want to be stuck with a person that can't even make you laugh!

I think everyone lies to their parents. It's funny how we think they don't know though.
