So, when I was a young subscriber to Games Magazine, I remember once reading about ambigrams, specifically about the book Wordplay by John Langdon. I thought it was neat - pinged my nascent graphic-art-is-cool bell.

I recently decided to try my hand at double knitting. For non-knitters (and those knitters that haven't experimented with this) the idea is that, basically, you're knitting two different planes at once, generally one color each, but the planes are glued together because you occasionally switch the colors up. Thus, you get a finished product that is twice the thickness of something single knit, with a design on the back which is mirror image and oppositely-colored from the design on the front.

There are lots of hearts and flowers and shamrocks out there for you to try if you want to double knit. I decided, instead, to do something vaguely more ambigrammy.

I thought it turned out kinda cool (though it has built-in obsolesence, sadly, and I can't think of what I could do next year), and so here are some shots:
