So, I figured it was possible that NPR is having me on, and they might even put up a fake website to back up the joke, but I don't think that they're in cahoots with imdb.

The fake trailer in the NPR story (at 1:15 or so) is particularly lovely.

It's not a joke! Snakes on a plane, is that awesome or what?

It sounds like it's _so_ not awesome -- except that it has Samuel L. Jackson. With his help, it might achieve the status of Good Camp, but that's the only reason why.

(Heard about this a while back, some combination of Daily Show and BoingBoing.)

I want those MOTHERFUCKING snakes off my MOTHERFUCKING PLANE!

Yeah, SLJ talked about this on the Daily Show a while back and it's become quite the thing since then. I can't wait!

I love that I knew exactly what you were talking about without having to follow any links or read any comments.

When rollick first led me to the trailer, I was like Holy crap, that's one very slick-looking fake trailer. I'm just not equipped psychically for the brave new post-camp, post-irony, post-post-modern online world.
