My building is so lovely. I woke up this morning to the sound of the woman in the flat downstairs screaming "shut up! Shut up, or I'll ring your fucking neck!" to a crying child, over and over again. Strangely enough, everytime she screamed it, the kid sobbed louder. Eventually she must have just done it, because it went quiet, and I haven't heard

I know... It happened again this morning, only this time she started off singing "row row row your boat" and then switched to "shut up you fucking whore" after a couple of lines. This is a woman who really hates her kids :s

Do you think some sort of children's services agency should be called in? It's obviously a verbally and emotionally abusive situation, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were physical abuse as well.

I'm really not sure... For one thing I am only 80% sure I know what flat the noises are coming from. I've also only ever heard this horrific yelling, and is that enough to call social services with? I don't know. My flatmate and I did consider whether we should call someone but stuff you hear through a wall isn't exactly conclusive evidence. I really don't know.
