I miss Merlin. I miss having something funny, exciting and really, really slashy to watch at the weekend. I also really miss having something British to watch. And so it was with great excitement that I sat down last night to watch the first episode of Being Human, which looks set to fill the void for a little while (the less said about the truly ( Read more... )

I loved it, too, and I haven't watched that pilot, yet. It's going to be a pretty good show, but Lauren is basically Janine Butcher with fangs.

How much does the show remind you of Sirius and Remus, though? It's like Annie is the Mary Sue who wrote a story about being the Pups' adorable housemate.

I just downloaded the pilot so I could rewatch it... Yeah, I have high hopes, I think it's going to be good. Although you are so right about Lauren! I knew she reminded me of someone really, really terrible...

It is a bit Remus/Sirius/Mary Sue isn't it? The new Puppy Love ship. I'm hoping Annie will get some good back story and character development otherwise she could easily start to hack me off, despite so far being the cutest thing ever.

It's only a theory and I have nothing whatsoever to back it up, but I suspect she was murdered by her boyfriend.

I think the boys have the potential to be really, really angsty. Mitchell will be called to go over to the dark side and his torment will extend to George's angst about potentially losing the person closest to him...

See, I thought that too. Because he was a bit shifty with the "yeah, she must have fallen" stuff, and then he couldn't see her...

I absolutely love angst, and I was quite excited about the potential for that here. I thought maybe George's inability to accept that he is part of that world might prevent him from being able to stop Mitchell slipping back to the dark side... Oh god, the scene where George is screaming in agony as he turns whilst Mitchell winces for him outside was just so good...

I saw the pilot and loved it, and the actor who played the vampire (I actually just typed campire, which was v apt I feel) - is the replacement as sexy and stuff? I am trying to DL at the mo, but iPlayer is not being kind to me.

I'm going to say yes. Yes he is. I wasn't sure at first, because I too liked the old one (also BWAHAHA@campire) but the new guy is pretty charming so I think you're safe.

Cool! shame about Demons, the title alone would have pulled me in.

Yeah, I saw one episode and it was the direst Buffy rip-off ever, and I haven't managed to catch any more. The main kid was cute, but that was about it.

Lol, I'd deny it but what would be the point?

Actually, I mostly can't get past Phil Glenister's dire American accent! Mina and Ruby were pretty hot, and thus the only thing worth watching it for...

just finished watching it, it was ace ^_^ i heart george i wanted to cry when he was transforming in the living room!

annie is loveley and mitchell is a hottie with a nice accent.

loved the "you smell like a polo... have you got a hole?" cringe. it was awesome!

as far as demons goes, i'm going to try and stick with it despite how bad it is.
incidentally did you know that the girl who plays Mina was Desdemona in that production of Othello we saw for my birthday?

Yay! I really wanted to hug George for most of that episode. Poor guy :( Even though his social ineptitude is pretty funny (I loved the "It was a pigeon. I killed it. With a shoe." bit).

I knew I recognised Mina from somewhere! Weirdness! Let me know if Demons gets any better, lady.

I miss Queer As Camelotfolk Merlin too!

I may have to give Being Human a go. It came up on my iplayer today and I was intrigued by the 2cm x 3cm thumbnail, so it's promising.

Lol, well if it can intrigue in a thumbnail it has to be worth a try, surely? I'd say do it. I think you'd like it. *nods*

Just watched Being Human, finally! Whilst not the main meal of slash that Merlin is, it's certainly a considerable packet of slashbiscuits.

And the faghag ghost is pretty cute. Shame she can't change her outfit though.

True that. Loving the slash-food metaphors too, by the way. The original pilot was slashier, which was mostly due to the guy playing Mitchell, but since the set-up itself is so inherently slashy (they're going to help each other be normal again, aww) I have high hopes.

The outfit thing is so going to annoy me, too. Plus, how convenient was it that she died dressed head to toe in ghostly grey? She's a hottie, though, so I'll get over it.

NEW EPISODE TONIGHT! Will the honeymoon period be over? Will I hate it? Will Russel Tovey be dressed throughout? So many questions.
