Mysterious Murderer Still at Large
Spring is coming around the corner in Memento Eden, but the bloodstains from winter are still thick on the ground. Local cook Teatime has been jailed for the murder of Coliseum commentator Grif, but are we sure that he's the culprit? Eyewitness and victim Grif isn't so sure. In an exclusive interview, Grif stated that, not having seen the killer himself, he wasn't convinced that the patrolmen have found the right suspect. In fact, he had a whole list of other possibilities:

  • Simmons: Could Grif's closest and least favorite friend have turned against him in a fit of rage?
  • Belphegor: What secrets does that smile hide? He's certainly sufficiently fond of knives.
  • Heather: A murder followed by a vanishing from the island: The perfect alibi?
  • Kuzco: I'm not quite sure how he'd hold the weapon without opposable thumbs, but Grif seemed convinced.
  • Bard: Could even an entire article list the number of reasons why Bard might have killed Grif?
  • Shinigami: A death behind the apartments. A God of death. Coincidence?
  • God: The God of the island itself may have some sort of grudge against the victim!

Determined to leave no stone unturned, I asked the patrolmen directly on the matter, but they were unsettlingly tight-lipped on the subject. The best I could get were vague, non-committal answers and deflections towards other patrolmen. Perhaps they know more than they are letting on...

I'll update my readers as more information surfaces!

Screaming Swordsman Shakes Buildings in Berserk Bloodbath
As if a single tragedy wasn't enough, somebody seemed set on expanding the carnage! A lone swordsman went on a berserk rampage, challenging everyone in sight to deadly sword duels. The swath of destruction came to its climax when he came face-to-face with Kurogane, who fought him with such ferocity that the photos I took can't be displayed in a family-friendly publication. The fight left Kurogane severely wounded, but also placated the lethal barbarian.

No names will be released, but witnesses described the mad warrior as having long, blue hair, a very loud voice, and a name starting with S.

Lovely Erk's Melodies Soothe Ears, Hearts
In an unexpected surge of talent, the fair warrior-maiden Erk suddenly developed a remarkable ear for the musical arts! Scarcely able to contain her newfound ability, scarcely a word comes out of her mouth that isn't some elaborate, charming rhyme. Villagers are gathering far and wide to hear the lovely songs of Memento Eden's latest starlet!

Rumors of a working partnership with Trucy's magic troupe were unconfirmed, but I would rate the possibility as "extremely high." Let's give them all the encouragement they deserve!

Sosuke Aizen: Onsen Chef, or Disaster Tycoon?
On a darker note, the amiable head chef of the Onsen, Aizen, may not be quite exactly as he seems. While Etna claims to run the show, Aizen seems to be the one pulling the threads... and does his influence stop there? Time and time again, the island's supernatural trickery just happens to occur at a time that is benificial to either sales of the latest Onsen party, or be an event that encourages staying overnight in their rooms. Is it possible that Aizen has some information in advance of the rest of us on when such magical mischief is about to occur? Is there, so to speak, more to his warm smile than meets the eye? We can only guess.
