DD#2 has a science fair project and is looking for guineapigs. The experiment is on blood pressure and the effect of chocolate on it; she'll be feeding people squares of chocolate over time and then measuring your blood pressure with a cuff after each. No, seriously ( Read more... )

If she's doing any measuring in our neighborhood (Bethesda), I'd be happy to eat chocolate for science.

I'm not entirely sure where and when the testing is happening; that'll be up to the kiddo. Currently, she has joined the track team, and is coming home and kind of groaning about being sore after practice, so I haven't heard a great deal more.

... of course, in evil mad scientist world you HAVE to give some group of subjects carob or Hershey's or some placebo while telling the subjects it's real chocolate.

Y'know, for science, and to be evil.

PS - noting that the holiday season is fast approaching if I'm free for the testing I'm in.

Hey! Hershey's is real chocolate. It's not GOOD chocolate. There is a difference. Carob is spawn of the devil, though, and can be spotted by any true chocolate-lover, so it wouldn't be a reasonable substitute. Imagine the rise in BP just from recognizing the nerve of the one who attempted the substitution.

No. Too horrible to consider.

My daughter needs no such training in evil. (She's probably plenty capable of it on her own...)
