    alcohol use is only as bad as the person who drinks

    Yeah but this whole thing was about alcohol abuse, where you don't have control. Alot of people aren't the same good people you knew when they're wasted

    There is a difference between alcohol abuse and alcohol use. Unfortunatley, some people never learn the difference, and even more unfortunately, sometimes it takes something big to teach people the difference (drunk driving, injury, date rape, etc.) Im not condoning either alcohol or sobriety, i'd be a hypocrit of i said alcohol was a horrible terrible thing, but more important is the respect for alcohol that the person must have, and the maturity level that must be present before the person drinks.
