[shirley isn't one for visitors. old age has made her prickly; visitors are not visitors, unless she invites them, and she never does - trespassers, in her eyes. she wants to exist without disturbance. she loves the world, but it's tiring and unchanging in many ways. ...so she felt in her shrine, at least. anatole has made her lukewarm to the inability to escape the living; though, it's still an irritant.]
