Who: Tonks (Closed)
When: Thursday, late in the morning
Where: That is a good question. She certainly won't know where she is.
Format: Paragraph
What: Tonks arrives in Anatole.
Warnings: N/A

She had been fighting Rabastan Lestrange.

The recently freed Death Eater, had been tracked down to Glasgow. It was only happenstance that Tonks found him first. At first it was hard to tell who was more surprised, him or her. But that surprise had not lasted long. Both of their wands were out. Tonks fired the first spell and so started their duel.

Tonks fought to keep him from apparating away until backup could arrive. Proudfoot was in the area and she had already sent him a message. She never fought to kill, only to subdue and capture. The same couldn’t be said for Rabastan, however, who was using every single dirty trick he knew. She deflected and reflected and he did the same; each throwing in a new charm, hex, jinx or curse.

But Rabastan knew who he was fighting. He suddenly shifted his wand away from Tonks and to the ground beneath her feet. In one swift motion, he sent a spell that turned the pavement she was standing on into a substance slicker than oil. Tonks felt herself start to slip but before she could fall onto her backside, a second spell hit her. It was a blasting curse. It lifted her up, off of her feet, and threw her into the brick wall of the building behind her.

Immediately, she felt a sharp pain in her right arm and head before landing with a thud on the ground. She was sure that her arm was going to be bruised if not fractured. That wasn't important though. Tonks couldn’t think about her own pain when Rabastan still had to be dealt with. Tonks pulled herself to her feet and suddenly felt her head start to swim in inky blackness. The world around her started to spin and for a few moments before she passed out, she saw stars.

When she could finally open her eyes, Tonks closed them immediately. It was several minutes before she tried again. Her hangover after drinking an entire bottle of firewhiskey had never been this bad. Her brain was a bit fuzzy as well. Hadn’t she been dueling Rabastan Lestrange? Hadn’t she just been knocked squarely off of her feet? So why was she in a plain room that she didn't recognize at all?

Eventually, she sat up. That's when she noticed the tiny device sitting on the stand next to her bed. Tonks reached for it with her right arm and winced. Bugger, she thought, that was her wand arm and spells could go wrong if done with her left. She sighed and thought she would deal with it later. Her arm only hurt when she moved it. There were more important concerns. Concerns such as where the bloody hell was she and how did she get wherever the bloody hell here is?

She picked up the communicator device with her left hand and studied it. Her fingers brushed over the smooth surface and unbeknownst to her, she turned it on. It was going to be a few moments before she thought of a way to move forward, constant vigilance and all that.
