DAY FOUR - THE ARCHERYsuperciliousMay 12 2011, 02:22:04 UTC
[ Targets line one end of the arena this morning! And a judge's table has been set up, in order for Priscilla, Riza, Elena and Arthur to judge each competitors skill, talent, and flair. Some combatants may have guns, and others bows of all kinds - the whole thing is somewhat mismatched. ]
DAY FOUR - THE ARCHERYfirebornfidelisMay 13 2011, 07:48:15 UTC
[Riza takes her seat at the judges table early, as is her custom. She manages somehow not to stand out like a sore thumb despite being dressed neither in native or medieval style - she wears just a simple high-collared sleeveless red blouse and a black skirt - and she settles her two little companions on the ground near her feet. Hayate and Mami's puppy Naoki look like regular canine good citizens in her care, sitting calmly side-by-side as if they are prepared to watch the archery competition as well.
She looks out at the slowly gathering competitors. Well. This should be interesting.]
[ It isn't long at all until Arthur joins her, sliding into the seat beside her from the long table. His armor is hardly an uncommon sight in this dangerous city, but it's been well-polished and his cape is a splash of jugular red down his back. He's just finished one last check on the field, jogging from target to target, but rather than exhausted he seems extraordinarily happy, glowing a little with joy and exertion. ]
Riza! Good to see you. Been enjoying yourself, I hope?
Fantastic. We're lucky enough to have some real talent participating. You should have seen some of the moves Irene pulled with that extraordinary two-handed of hers, it was almost too fast for the eye to see. Shame Kay didn't win out, though, I had a little money riding on-
[ Abruptly he realizes that she probably doesn't want a play-by-play; Arthur doesn't think he's particularly boring when he talks bloodsports, but Morgana tends to loudly disagree. Riza is nothing like Morgana, of course; the very comparison could make him laugh. But she is a lady, and though she has her guns she's never struck him as the sort of woman who'd appreciate a rousing discussion of Kaien's footwork. ]
Sorry, bit off track there. Been to see any yourself?
[Truth be told she is not really big on swords or swordfighting (some fairly bad associations attached) but she doesn't mind hearing about it. Of course, knowing very little about the art, she wouldn't have had much to say anyway.]
I did see the joust yesterday. It was quite a show. We have warhorses where I come from but they're not quite the same idea as this. I've never seen a match anything like that before.
DAY FOUR - THE ARCHERYsewing_princeMay 16 2011, 03:28:54 UTC
[Stands on one end of the field, measuring up the distance between himself and the target. He's silent as he steads his bow and firing the arrow, watching it fly towards the target.
While using a normal boy and arrow wasn't vastly different then what he was used to, it still took him a few moments to adjust. At least he wasn't shooting moving targets in a life or death situation at the moment.]

[She can't help but smile back at him, he seems so exuberant. It's almost as if his happiness makes her that much less gloomy just by proximity.]
I have. And it looks like everyone else has, too. This community needed something to raise it's spirits, and you've seem to have done it.
[She glances back out at the field.]
How have the other competitions been going?
