THE FAIRE; the fortune tellergirl_unlockingMay 13 2011, 01:27:53 UTC
[Taking a break from circlets, magic shows and melee preparations to quietly peer inside, her hand resting on edge of the tent's entrance. There's a circlet in it in various shades of red.]
[just as another girl is walking out. she seems pleased; her fortune must have been good because it's not as though shirley is purposely soothing or helpful. she is gathering cards back into the deck and shuffling.]
[Am walking into your tent, apparently. With a circlet of blue and gold and ...neon orange because she ran out of red.]
...the booth people get free circlets. It's like solidarity of unlikely flowers. [Slightly nervous derpchuckle.] Or the sisterhood of the traveling pants only they're not pants they're...
[she can follow up until the pop culture reference, and then, she is curious why there would be a sisterhood about pants that can travel. traveling pants, really. people chose to enchant the strangest things. but hey, shirley is smiling.]
[Yes and no. Maybekindof. But she's afraid it's bad, and today is ...well, she's decided it's not the day for bad. All badness is banned at least until next Tuesday. But she's eyeing that ornate chair, and next thing she knows, she's sitting in it.]
...okay. Sure. Why not. I can do this.
[Sets the circlet down on the table, winding and folding the ribbons underneath.]
[shuffle, she means. and then, she is picking up the circlet and placing it on her head. adjusting, as need be. the orange probably clashes with her ginger-colored hair, but she likes it. and it is a nice thought that the those working get a free one. for that, she won't charge dawn!]
[Slllllow on the uptake and then it clicks. Yes. The cards. She reaches for them, turns them in her hands and shuffles carefully so as to avoid a cardsplosion.]
Third time's a charm, right?
S-should I be thinking of a question?
[Nothing clashes with that ginger colored hair, Shirley. It is GLORIOUS.]
[Uhhhh. Well, the last time she asked the whole what am I question, it didn't go so well. So maybe she should just leave that question alone? Yeah. Leaving it alone.]
I'll take whatever you've got that's not apocalypse flavored. Or ending with me making out with a vampire that's all ...people eaty.
[and her smile is teasing but not mocking. whoa, a light-hearted joke! but hey, it's appropriate. anyway, drawing three cards as per usual for the scorched: the sun, temperance, and the eight of swords. shirley's smile disappears, and she tilts her head.]
H-hello?

I'm not---
[Uh.]
---I'm better! I was really, really unhappy for a while but---
[I know, I know, there's a but. There's always a but. And what comes after the but?
BUTT.
Anatole is a giant butt.]
Things...
...really sucked for a while.

Do the cards say if I'll get it?

If you ask for help and learn to accept what happens.

Depending on your circumstances. But there is little that is not bettered by outside forces.
