He thinks for a moment then looks up to Shirley very seriously. He needed to know how he was going to prioritize his healing. If there were going to be a lot of people coming in he needed to know how to get to the mortally wounded first.
"I don't know how humans heal or fix people, but I can heal very bad injuries quickly! How will I get to people with he worst injuries first? Is there a place they will be taking them?"

Then, "do you require visualisation to heal people?" This is important; someone being healed with the wrong organs could end very badly.

He looked back up at Shirley when she asked the question, "No, I just need to be close to them. My powers will heal them all better. I can restore their energy too if they're needed to fight." and it's true, the first person he healed wasn't in fact, a Namekian, but a human who had been impaled through the stomach. He had also gone to heal a Namekian as well as a Saiyan and a half Saiyan. He wasn't exactly sure how his powers worked, but he knew it was strong.

"Oh! Miss Shirley! Can you tell me where to get some water? I could materialize it myself, but that would take energy I could use for healing! And if I have water, even if I get really tired, I could heal for a little longer if I had something to drink so I could rest a bit!"
If things where as bad as he thought they were going to be then he was going to keep healing until he passed out. There wasn't anything Dende liked less then seeing people hurt.

In an unguarded moment he touches Shirley's arm, the hand then falling on Dende's shoulder, as he circles past them and continues toward the door.
He stops and turns back and says, "Oh, Shirley, when you have a moment I need to tell you about portkeys."
And is gone again.

"Of course," and Shirley is turning to Dende, as the other adult leaves.

Dende smiles VERY proudly and is COMPLETELY unfazed by the use of magic... he could do the same thing... he just wasn't aware humans could materialize things too. When Lupin disappears Dende waves his little goodbye.

She turns to Dende, holding the pitch of water for him to take; there is the barest hint of a smile.

"Thank you Ms. Shirley! I would bow but I don't want to spill the water everywhere!"
