For all her concerns, Shirley is glad to see Dende. Partly because in the clinic, he is safe, but partly because in such chaos, she can't manage the patients alone. She smiles when she approaches and, uncharacteristically, kneels at his level - the importance of calmness in this moment that appearance alone can't give. There is blood on her gown, and her hair is slowly tangling.

"Little one, I need your help."

Dende nods, knowing the situation is serious. The sight of blood doesn't bother him, he's watched as his people were slaughtered, his friend impaled, and other such injuries. Shirley was trying to help people too, that happened when you try to help. He looked up at Shirley earnestly."Tell me who to heal! I'll do it right away!"

"Whoever you can," she says. "If they are injured or ask for you, help them. The clinic will be very full soon - you must do this without my guidance. Do you understand?" Her tone is gentle, at least, for the tremendous responsibility she is asking of him.

"I understand. It will be like back home."

He thinks for a moment then looks up to Shirley very seriously. He needed to know how he was going to prioritize his healing. If there were going to be a lot of people coming in he needed to know how to get to the mortally wounded first.

"I don't know how humans heal or fix people, but I can heal very bad injuries quickly! How will I get to people with he worst injuries first? Is there a place they will be taking them?"

"The grievously injured have been directed into that room," and Shirley motions toward the doorway. It's not occupied now, no one to fill it and the last few people, having died there; her magic does have a limit, and it has been met several times in that room already. "If you can heal those directed there, do so." And if Dende can't... Well, she won't state the obvious. Nor will she tell him in a given time this separation will mean nothing.

Then, "do you require visualisation to heal people?" This is important; someone being healed with the wrong organs could end very badly.

Dende looked at the room and nodded in understanding. That would be where he would stay. "I will."

He looked back up at Shirley when she asked the question, "No, I just need to be close to them. My powers will heal them all better. I can restore their energy too if they're needed to fight." and it's true, the first person he healed wasn't in fact, a Namekian, but a human who had been impaled through the stomach. He had also gone to heal a Namekian as well as a Saiyan and a half Saiyan. He wasn't exactly sure how his powers worked, but he knew it was strong.

Shirley nods, pleased; a healer as strong as her was necessary in this time. "Good." She stands but smiles, gentle and encouraging. "Many people will appreciate your bravery when this ends."

Dende smiles proudly, maybe people wouldn't throw rocks at him anymore if he did a good enough job!

"Oh! Miss Shirley! Can you tell me where to get some water? I could materialize it myself, but that would take energy I could use for healing! And if I have water, even if I get really tired, I could heal for a little longer if I had something to drink so I could rest a bit!"

If things where as bad as he thought they were going to be then he was going to keep healing until he passed out. There wasn't anything Dende liked less then seeing people hurt.

Glancing around, she notes patients are taken care of for the time being - a lull, the calm before the storm. Shirley takes the moment, then, and extends her hand for Dende. "I'll show you," because you are far too small to reach the faucet, Dende.

Dende holds her hand and follows obediently and quietly. But after this he was going to be "grown up" for the rest of the day. Just like on Namek.

She leads him away from the patients and staff, through several rooms; there, she releases his hand and finds a pitcher to fill with water. Chances are, someone he heals will need water as much as him, and Miranda will probably be too busy.

Lupin nearly runs smack into them both of them on their way to the sink, he on his way back from it. He looks in apparent befuddlement at them. But it obviously wasn't, because, with uncanny accuracy, in the same few seconds that he says, "Dende, excellent. Thank you for helping." -he touches the tip of his wand to the pitcher in Shirley's hands and says "Aguamenti." It fills with water.

In an unguarded moment he touches Shirley's arm, the hand then falling on Dende's shoulder, as he circles past them and continues toward the door.

He stops and turns back and says, "Oh, Shirley, when you have a moment I need to tell you about portkeys."

And is gone again.

...she loves his magic. So very much. Varied and incredibly useful, so unlike even Wingly magic. Which is possibly why she doesn't mind his touching her. Or maybe she just tolerates it because it's Remus - she'll never tell.

"Of course," and Shirley is turning to Dende, as the other adult leaves.

Dende bows politely at Remus "Hello Mr. Remus! I'm very glad to help!"

Dende smiles VERY proudly and is COMPLETELY unfazed by the use of magic... he could do the same thing... he just wasn't aware humans could materialize things too. When Lupin disappears Dende waves his little goodbye.

In that case, Shirley loves their magic both!

She turns to Dende, holding the pitch of water for him to take; there is the barest hint of a smile.

Dende takes the pitcher gratefully, and giggles a little.

"Thank you Ms. Shirley! I would bow but I don't want to spill the water everywhere!"
