An interesting choice of costume.

[sup, lust. let's stand next to each other and be totally hot together.]

To love, to know, to grow, to experience.

[there is no point, really, but shirley thinks you might as well spend it happy instead of miserable.]

It just gets taken away. It might be better not to know. [Might be.]

So that you may exist, only watching with disdain and envy?

[shrug]

I meant all of it.

[That's the opposite of what she wanted before. She knows this, tucks it away because it might even bring with it a twinge of fear. No thanks.]

As did I.

There would be no envy then. [There might still be disdain though, because she pretty much had that from the get go.]

A pathetic existence.

[Huff. She doesn't want you to make sense right now, gdi.]

Because I'd be less human?

[sry, it's this thing she does.]

Because you would choose sorrow to joy - a choice that is inherently human, though.

Would it be inherently human to choose neither? [But she's choosing another drink!]

And what would your reason be?

[you know. it probably doesn't seem it, but besides the unsolicited advice of MOVING ON GOD LUST, shirley plans to lead her around as long as necessary to make the point she already is human, and there isn't much to be done about it.]

I thought that all these feelings would fill the emptiness. They don't. It's been filled by ...more emptiness. And impulses I'm not sure I should give in to.

[She is feeling much less than human at the moment, which is funny, because she's closer than she'd been to it in a long time.]

Then, your choice would remain rooted in your humanity.

[being human works out weird.]

It would still be human ...to embrace the beast, so to speak? [It might be coincidence that as her head turns the wolfbones in her hair are brought into better view.]

Of course. The beast that once was no longer exists, changed by knowledge.
