[Ax is aware that both he and his brother will run out of their allotted free time in their hollow human dwellings quite soon, and while he would like to find a suitable patch of land and make a scoop, he has to admit that plan is impractical for someone who is involuntarily human the majority of the time. It was 'spacious' that caught his attention on the piece of paper. If he must live in a human room, he would very much like one bigger than what he has now.

This also means he must obtain a job.]

Ya-chee-roo, roo, is a child, and she can construck, struck-tuh, cakes. I could easily learn how to make human foods!

[One human building is much like another to Ax, but he notices the lawn as he and Elfangor approach the house. It would not be like the homeworld, but it would be better than no grass nearby at all.]

You do realize that the purpose of the food industry is to provide food for others to consume, yes? Are you certain that any food you prepare would make it to the customers?

[Elfangor can't help but tease his brother a bit. Yes, getting a job is important for both of them, but he thinks it may be wise to obtain jobs in fields less prone to encouraging... a loss of self-control.

Then again, food preparation was at least something they could both be rather, ah, passionate about. Hmm. This would require some consideration.

But first, the matter of housing. He too notices the grass, and while he is aware that to humans it would appear overgrown and unkempt, he can only think it looks pleasantly lively. And should their potential new landlord require someone to provide lawn care, he is sure that he and Aximili are up to the job. He grins at the thought, and reaches out to ring the bell.]

[Sebastian has only just returned to doing the dishes in the kitchen after Verity's departure... and the doorbell rings. He lets out a small sigh at being interrupted again. Granted, he COULD ask Mey-Rin to finish the dishes, but they can't currently afford replacements when she breaks inevitably them all. He shuts off the water in the sink and heads answer to the front door.

This time, another surprise, but for a different reason. Two of them? And one Sebastian recognises as the boy with the unfortunate and vexing speech impediment.

Professional smile is a go.]

Good evening, gentlemen. Are you, perhaps, answering the ad posted about rooms for rent?

Of course, cor-suh, I realize, lie, li-zuh that! It would be my duty to serve the human customers.

[Having worked in a human food establishment, however unofficially, briefly, and ill-fatedly, Ax truly believes he is an expert in their operating principles.

The human who answers the door sounds familiar, and after a moment, Ax places him as one of the humans he spoke to upon first finding himself in Anatole.]

Yes, we would like to know more about the spay, spacious rooms.

Hello! [He holds out a hand, in a gesture that he has come to know as standard greeting procedure.] My name is Elfangor, and this is my younger brother Aximili. Yes, we are very interested in renting rooms.

[Elfangor feels obligated to divulge their current employment status, as it is bound to come up upon discussing rental fees.]

We are also presently looking for jobs, having arrived here not long ago, but we are highly qualified, with both military experience and technological training-- [If basic schooling could be considered as such, but compared to human technology? Certainly counted,] and do expect to find employment very soon. Additionally, we would be more than happy to assist in the various aspects of communal living, such as attending to yard work, and I can cook. [Not gourmet or anything like that, but passably well. It is necessary to become proficient in cooking when living as a human--food is far too wonderful an experience to waste the experience!]

[Well, the younger one's stutter doesn't seem to have cleared up, but the older one speaks well enough. Sebastian accepts Elfangor's hand and shakes it firmly. In politeness, he offers his hand to Ax as well.]

It's a pleasure, although I do believe we have spoken once over the Forge, Mr. Aximili. My name is Sebastian, I am the butler of this household, as well as the Patrol Headquarters. Please, come in.

[He steps aside and allows them to enter the large, albeit dim foyer. The offer of helping out around the house is certainly appealing - the only other staff is Mey-Rin, and she's not really a help to anyone.]

Those are fine skills to have, especially here. I've no doubt you'll be able to find employ with them. Have you tried the Patrol? I believe Miss Priscilla is always looking for more personnel.

[A little plugging of his other job wouldn't hurt. Especially if it meant that money would eventually get to him.And I know we could certainly use some help. There's an expansive back garden that is rather overgrown, and while I ( ... )

[Ax looks at the human's extended hand for a moment before imitating his brother and gripping it briefly. What an odd custom. He will have to ask Elfangor about it later.]

Yes, I bee, bee-leeve we have.

[Ax remembers asking this human if he had heard of the Ellimist, and while no harm ultimately came from revealing that much about his world, the question strikes him now as embarrassingly naive.]

I am going-ing to learn to make foods, as well! [he adds, proudly. He does not see any reason to elaborate on exactly how they would help with garden, and keeps himself from asking whether the grass in it is tasty.

He examines the room, turning around to see all of it. He is quite getting the hang of looking around himself without falling over. This enclosure is certainly very spacious, much more so than Prince Jake's house. Ax does not feel as closed-in as he feared.]

It is very large. Lar-juh.
