Who: idk.
When: August 14th - August 16th, I guess.
Where: the Clinic
Format: whatever
What: Oh, shit. It's cannibalistic elves and whoever hasn't been eaten by them yet, and Lisa should stop making event-long open logs at the Clinic. u n s u r e.
Warnings: Um, let's go with a general warning of injuries. Otherwise, these are usually tame logs...

The boy says,]
Injury, reporting, or other?

[Well, this is a bit odd. Anatole in general has been a disturbing jolt to his system, accustomed as he'd been to heaven. He hadn't really been expecting a receptionist even in the best case scenario, but a child... were they really in that dire a situation at the clinic? Raphael can't help but shake his head a little.]
Could you get him for me?

Licentia.
[he doesn't appear to be talking to anyone, but suddenly, it's possible for Raphael to step further in. It hadn't been a moment ago.
The boy actually grins and blushes a little at Raphael.]
Mr. Lupin taught me that. Been waiting to try it. You can come in; he's expecting you. He's… um… well, ask around. He and Shirley move around a lot, pretty quick, but someone always knows how to find them.
[and as soon as Raphael's inside, clear of the boundary, the boy yells out,]
Redono!
[magic-sensers would be able to feel something settle back down on the entranceway. Passage again blocked from outside. The boy is not creating anything; he's turning a key. The protection spell was set up earlier and can now be flicked on and off by anyone inside.
Indeed: cursory effort. But, with an enemy that (hopefully? unfortunately?) can be identified on sight, hopefully better than none.]

[But it's a different world made up of different worlds, of course, by now he ought not to expect such things.]
[He wanders for only a few moments, feeling sorely out of place in the hospital setting for the first time in years. But as promised, it doesn't take long before he catches a glimpse, recognizes Lupin's face from the video. He walks toward him.]
I hope I'm not interrupting. Mr. Lupin? I'm Raphael. Pleasure to meet you.

The pleasure's definitely mine. You'll pardon a cursory method of interview today, for battle conditions…
[he holds out a hand almost but not quite touching Raphael's shoulder, indicating a direction for them to walk together. First introduction to working at the clinic: you'll do all non-bedside talking on the move.*]

Of course, under circumstances like these, formality can take a backseat.
[He follows, obliging. He hadn't expected anything less, but all the same it had been years since he'd taken his job seriously. Years since he'd been busy, even, at least, with his official duties.]
What would you like to know?

[Lupin stops and stands aside to let Raphael pass him into the main patient area. The beds lining both walls, under its tall windows, are mostly occupied-unsurprising; in fact, impressive there isn't (yet) an overflow.
Lupin does not direct Raphael to any particular patient. He waits to see Raphael's choice.
Standing immediately by, Lupin can monitor the patient's condition, understand [possibly] Raphael's power by analyzing its signature at work, and if necessary [theoretically] intercede. It's a mark of some kind of confidence-in Lupin's own power, in Shirley's protection, in the collective goodwill of the clinic, in the force of necessity, in Raphael's intent-to try by fire this way. Why not assume all of the above.]

[The edges of Raphael's mouth tilt into what on probably any other face might be a smile but somehow, it doesn't quite make it there. He crosses over to a sleeping young woman's bedside. Gently he takes the bandages from her face and arm, revealing a grotesque mess of wounds, bites, exposed muscle. Raphael barely blinks, putting his hand to her face.]
[If Lupin's expecting traditional medicine, which Raphael doubts, he's apt to be disappointed. Oh, they're an option, if you prefer the outdated and barbaric, or if you've sapped your energies. Shutting his eyes, he concentrates ( ... )

I would like very much, when time allows, to talk with you more extensively. For now, I'll introduce you to Shirley, then we can continue with the work.
[No need to say the words "you're hired".]
There's not much in the way of payment, but you can have housing here and will have full access to the rations as well as supplies.

[Especially considering he was right on the brink of being evicted from that starter apartment, but for once his own security hadn't been his reason for coming.]
[Odd, that.]
[Though really, he'd like to know himself how the other healers worked, their power, their skill. His expression softens a bit, nodding, glancing back over at Lupin.] I'm glad to be taken on here.

Then he releases him, smiles, and tilts his head to lead the way Shirleyward. He tends to know where to find her.]
[ooc: /pokes Lisa though we may want to handwave at this point!]

when she looks at the two, her expression says it all: make it quick. (you're so friendly, shirley.) ]

Miss Shirley? I'm sorry to interrupt you. I'm Raphael. It's a pleasure to meet you.
[He feels like in the past few weeks here he's introduced himself more than he's ever needed to in centuries. But that's as irrelevant as anything else.]
[Still. Maybe he ought to have shaken hands.]
