[She picks up the communicator device with her left hand and studies it. Her fingers brush over the smooth surface and unbeknownst to her, she turns it on. It is going to be a few moments before she can think of just how to move forward. She should play it safe ( Read more... )

[his disembodied voice comes the moment before breaking]

I promise.

[he switches off the forge and performs the single most difficult feat of magic he's ever done.

Moments later, an orb of astral light flies in through her window. As it floats to a stop before her, it slowly grows and coalesces into a very, very familiar canine shape.

She'll learn later about the Mist: the residual magic infusing the air, activating all energies, altering all movements through it, including those of wizardry, which can sometimes be amplified…

Or maybe he's just really, really good with a patronus.

Whichever it is, the silver-blue spectral version of Sirius-as-Padfoot bows to her; pads silently, gorgeously forward, and touches its nose to her poor bruised head. The light that envelops her as the patronus dissolves acts like a healing spell, flooding the pain and nausea away.]

[OOC Geeknotes: I must finish and post my in-game developments index! One of the entries will be the Anatolian manifestation of a patronus. I may have amped it up a bit, ( ... )

[Her eyes light up and she watches the silvery sphere intently. She trusts it. Tonks is glad that this isn't a trick or some sort. Death Eaters, as far as she was aware, didn't have the feelings to produce a Patronus. She smiles. Some of the tension leaves her now that she's for certain that she's not in the hands of the Death Eaters.

Tonks had, up to this point, never seen his Patronus before. She is surprised that it looks exactly like Padfoot but as she watches it, she supposes that it makes sense. They'd been mates forever, right?]

Oh.

[She has nothing but trust for the Patronus. As it moves closer to her, she doesn't move except to look at it. Tonks trusts it and when it presses its nose into her head, she lets out a little sound. The pain is gone. She doesn't feel sick anymore. She feels better.]

She feels far to relieved to say a simple 'thanks mate'. Tonks turns her head to look at the Patronus.]

Thank you.

[it does the very unpatronuslike thing of lolling its tongue out of its mouth and panting grinningly at her. But it is a very Padfootlike thing.

Then it melts away, leaving the room feeling refreshed and somehow realer in its wake.

If only it would have told her what the hell was up with Remus.]

It's a good thing you're non-corporeal because if you licked me...

[Tonks shakes her head and finally pulls herself to her feet. She brushes herself off and then picks back up the Forge.]

Thanks Remus. I feel loads better now.

Remus? Are you there?

Remus?

[Tonks looks at the Forge and then tosses it onto the bed. She's sure that he's Remus Lupin but he's not acting anything like she remembers. What is wrong with him?]
