As for monsters, mon-ster-zuh, the worst, worr-stuh, I have known is not evil so much for his form, but for what he has done. One can be born, born-nuh, with natural weapons that appear frightening-ing, but it is what one does with them that matt, matters.

That is so jen, general as to be uninformative. However, I do believe, bee-leeve you, dee, despite what I said earlier. I have spoken to enough people here who come from worlds where magic is possible that it would be foolish, ish-shuh, to discount them.
[This still does not mean it is a comfortable idea for Ax.]
And I know for myself, sel-fuh, that hiding-ing what you truly are from friend-zuh only causes distrust where there should not be any. It is. Is also quite painful. If they are truly your friends, you should be able to trust them.

[In Ax's case, it was more a matter of humans having different expectations of what trust meant than he was entirely prepared to deal with, at first. But he was aware that his presence, if discovered, would cause trouble for any number of people.]
It is never easy, is it? I wanted to protect, tek-tuh, my friends, but I found that they could deal with more than I had assumed.
