[ Those extra movements had been Tonks sliding her wand from out of the sleeves of her robes. While still in his embrace, she points her wand at his backside and uses a non-verbal spell on him.

Petrificus Totalus.

She doesn't want to jinx Remus but she has to. This mission is hers. It's selfish, she knows. He could help but she's not going to let him destroy his soul. ]

[ It's a quick flick of her wand that keeps him from falling backwards and injuring himself. She could have used a stunning charm on him but she has a message for him. There are things she wants to tell him before she leaves.

With another flick of her wand, she floats him back into the Clinic. She deposits him safe and sound into one of the private rooms. Tonks places him on the bed and closes the door behind him.

After, she crosses the room and she sits down next to him. ]

I have to do this alone Remus. You cannot stop me. You cannot help me. I told you once that I didn't want you to lose your soul for me.

[ Her eyes glisten with tears in the soft light of the room. She tries to smile. ]

I love you too much to let that happen.

[ Tonks leans forward and kisses his forehead. Her lips linger for a moment. ]

I hope you can forgive me.

[ She stands then and walks out of the room. For moment, she stops. Tonks almost looks back but she refrains. If she looks back she might not leave.
