[ The Forge was turned on, but it seems the girl who turned it on isn't aware to that fact. She knocked into life as she lifted what seems to be a little pink trolley and laid it on the bed. Currently she's talking to herself in a very frantic way. ]

That is terr, terrible!

[He will never understand why humans think their music is pleasant to listen to. It seems to Ax as if they are always angry when they sing, and this is certainly no exception.]

Why would you make noises, noys-iz, like that?

[ Oh HELL to the no. Rachel may be insecure about a lot of things from her looks to Finn but not her singing. ]

My singing is not terrible. If you find a flaw in it, your hearing must be off. I'd recommend a doctor quickly, it could possibly turn you deaf.

[This is a cause for momentary concern, until it occurs to Ax that she is probably employing human exaggeration.]

The word-zuh do not make any sense, anyway, way. If the sun were a ball, awl, of butter--

Is this a human expression I do not know?

They're metaphors, and I'll have you know metaphors are important.

I know what a metaphor, fore is! [A bit sulkily.]

This is not a very good one. If the sun were a ball of but-ter, Earth would be incapable of sustaining-ing life.

You're over thinking it, it's poetic. It's a poetic song in an iconic musical.

Eye-conn-ick? [Ax repeats. It is a strange word to him, his first association for 'icon' being the computer kind. He feels a change of subject is called for, as this one seems likely to encourage the human girl to inflict more music on him.]

I do not think you will miss your nash, nationals. Time does not behave, bee-hay-vuh, normally here. It seem-zuh most probable you will return to your Earth to find no time has passed.

Aximili! [Horrified? Yes.]

It is called music. Surely you've heard of it in your time on Earth? The Rolling Stones? The Who? The Beatles?

[Please be ringing some bells, please, Elfangor is not sure that he can handle the implications of this.

(Those implications being an utter lack of musical taste.)]

I know who Rolling Stones is!

[Sort of. Sorry, Elfangor, Ax isn't going to be convinced.]

[Raised eyebrow.] I presume that if you know who they are, then you know that they are a group, not an individual.

[All the internal sighing. Oh, little brother, he is just going to have to re-educate you in terms of appreciation for Earth music, isn't he?]

...Can you at least identify any of their songs?

The one about the impossibility, poss-ih-bill-it-tee, of getting-ing what you want?

[Of course he knew they were a group, not an individual human.

...as of the last five seconds, anyway.]
