[Behold, it is Priscilla. Currently sitting on her bed, and looking curiously unmauled compared to the last time you may have seen her.

[She nods a little with her... well formerly missing arm.]I didn't want anyone to worry, so I thought... I should let people know that I'm... err, intact. Again ( Read more... )

Honored.

[No, not really. But he's not going to complain about it, not if it affords him the chance to put that thing down.]

[SHE DOESN'T THINK SO.]

No.

[...well you asked.]

...I didn't think so.

You know, you could really stand to be more pleasant. Then I wouldn't need to complain to Ukitake about arguing, for example.

Stories and jokes? I might be good for that. It's really a wonder that Arthur hasn't had me promoted to court jester.

[Not to mention a little sad that that's a promotion for him.]

Oh, I've got one. How many people in Camelot does it take to light a candle?

...ah. I don't know! How... many?

One hundred - one king to issue the decree, ninety-seven knights to prepare for the invasion that will likely take place if there's no light, and one prince to order his servant to do it.

[That was much funnier in his head.]

Sorry. That couldn't have helped much, all things considered.

[...blinkblink.]

...why can't the prince just do it himself?

I do not know any jokes, joke-suh.

[He does not think he could tell them properly, even if he did. Marco is extremely good at different inflections of human mouth sounds, but Ax still cannot reliably identify all of them, much less replicate them.]

But I could tell you a story. It depends, pennd-suh, on what kind you would like to hear.

Any kind at all, really! Something happy... something sad...

Something strange?

Stray, strange is probably a given, for my stories.

Most of the ones I know end up being-ing sad, but I know one that begins, gin-zuh, with sadness, and ends happily, lee.

A story? Really?

Yes! What's wrong with stories?

Nothing in particular. It's a strange thing to request.

Is it? Listening to stories is one of the most normal and human things a person can do.

[Investigate. Jon arches a brow.]

How did you do that?

[Ax is fascinated. He does not think he can make his human eyebrows do that.

He might be trying anyway, which results in an odd expression.]

If there is a threat, I wish to help conn, confront it.
