I'm driving Little_Mz_Hatbox to school this morning. As we were departing the garage, I asked her if she wanted to hear some tunes. "Yes," she replied, "I want the iPod. I want to hear... iTunes!" You're laying down her musical roots. My childhood involved a lot of easy listening (shudder) so that top 40 in my teens seemed like a great departure, and classical music was where I found common ground with mom and Grandma (and we won't talk about my years of listening to Air Supply).

LMH is a savvy kid; she might embrace the Top 40 so she can identify with what the other kids are listening to, but her range won't be that narrow.
