Holy shit. I just got a phone call from Samuel L Jackson. Or, rather, my wife did. The phone rang, and when she picked it up, there was Samuel L. Jackson on the phone. Or, rather, a recording of SLG, but it did use her real first name

Saw that link elsewhere and thought about using it, but I figured the private information (name, phone number) wasn't really mine to give. Who sent it to her (rather than to you)?

Had you answered the phone, would Sammy have used your real first name? ;-)

It was from me. I figured you would both find it funny. Hope it wasn't a privacy violation.

I ran through a few of the samples on the web site. Since the whole thing was a menu'd system, I figure they just had him record a bunch of vocal clips, then a large number of names. I was told on the web site that Mr. Jackson couldn't actually say my name. I guess "Marta" isn't common enough in the U.S. yet. But I'll betcha "Martha" was probably in there (didn't check). If the sender's name is available, he'll say, "go get your and head for the movie theater!"

The viral marketing they're doing for Snakes On A Plane is just so nifty and fun, I had to share. Someone in that marketing department is very, very clever.
